This program will promote agricultural literacy by using a variety of hands on activities in agriculture. Each activity can be used separately or combined as a unit. The children will develop a better understanding, appreciation and application of science through several unique hands on agriculturally based activities.
Animal Education is a live animal experiential learning program.This program can be a one day program with a variety of animals or expanded to several sessions involving individual animals at each session. With the help of our amazing animal friends, this program brings science to life and touches the hearts and minds of children in joyful and effective ways.
Aquaponics is the combination of Aquaculture (raising fish) and Hydroponics (soil less growing of plants). This 9-12 week program will teach about sustainable farming, how to grow healthy food and how to care for living creatures. The student, with direct interaction, will use math, chemistry and biology concepts to understand and maintain a well balanced plant and fish system.
Children will study the science and the development of chicken embryos. This is a 9-12 week program where kids will have a hands on approach to study the science and development of living things by observing chicken embryos as they grow inside the egg. This program will help children build on their natural curiosity of living things in the world around them.
Horticulture is the science and art of growing fruit, vegetables, flowers and plants. The children are given a hands on approach to learning about the principles of plant science by using different types of gardening and specialty gardening. Using a variety of horticulture and food systems, the children will plan,care for and manage vegetable and flower gardens and micro greens.
